LOL! Kids run on and on until they simply wind down and run out of steam in an instant.

she acts as if napping is an adult conspiracy to make her miss something

True True True!! when I was a little toddler I hated nap time,, when I was kid, bed was for sleep at night as well in teens,, my twenty’s,, the bed was there when I had time to sleep as well into my thirty’s,,, my 40’s, well the first part,,, bedtime was just what it was,,,, in my late 40’s ? now a nap is a luxury I like to indulge in on weekends

You know my son when he was young would scream and people would think we were beating him when nap time came. He never liked naps. My daughter didn’t like them either but at least she didn’t scream bloody murder when we’d put her down for them.

Her brand new little mind is a sponge and her little body a great mound keeps her from moving, seeing, smelling touching, she only tastes what others will put in her mouth, can’t take part yet any discussion or simply natter away over a cuppa with her gram on snowy Winter day. Blimey, the cuppa’s nearly big as she, poor mite. I have compassion for her boredom and your exhaustion.

She is quite sure that the picture of her grandfather needs to be talked to as her father definitely is showing the genes he wears as they could be twins if you just looked at pictures of them at a similar age

Pictures of both, mke gallery of sorts and sow them to her, talk about them, put your knowledge of them in her mind as a recording will make sense later?
I’d known rather a lo of bbies happily occupied with nice music and slide shows… i’ve made slide shows of alphabets, flora, numbers, nimals with both common and latin names displayed, all sorts of art with title and artist displayed, put them in carulsels as actual slides in the past, now in image file on desktop nad link slideshow screen saver to it. most modern televisons will connect and can b used as large display. Huge file put up random order with all of those in it. The sponge is provided all sorts of information and nad hs music accomapnying. She may not be silent but she will have much input to keep mind occupied and learn colours, letters, numbers, art, faces of family and friends, natural wonders, flora and fauna, food, languages ( including music ), faces of friends, family and important others ( like your Mr Jefferson ), anything one can put in the modern digital frame to fill her mind with information as well as mere visual stimulus. the information will be in there, ready to access when her own language skills are available to her do put words on them, she will read soon enough and then all in visual memeory will have had accompanying words will then make sense.
The brain is a library. it can accept information from day one. The human’s most intense abiliy to absorb information is highest before language develops, next highest up to puberty and falls flat for long time during and after. I know a few view this as a time to give the greatset legacy one might give any child, that of information will be used lifelong.
As one of an age with her dad puts it, " It’s like the baby’s mind is a empty drive and I get help to give her the super spiffiest OS on the planet. "

alos look into one of those porch swings or gliders for adults. I know several use them indoors as they are very conducive to napping with baby.
